Gardaí in Cavan have appealed for witnesses to contact them after a schoolgirl was knocked down by a van as she attempted to get off a schoolbus in Mullahoran last Wednesday afternoon.

Gardaí in Cavan have appealed for witnesses to contact them after a schoolgirl was knocked down by a van as she attempted to get off a schoolbus in Mullahoran last Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 4pm at Kilgolagh Cross on the Kilcogy to Finea Road.

It’s understood the 14-year-old victim is a student at a north Longford secondary school.

Witnesses are asked to contact Kilnaleck Garda Station on 049 4336202.
