On Wednesday, July 10, Longford Women’s Link will host a seminar on proposed changes to Local Government.

“Putting People First” will provide information on the proposals outlined in “Putting People First: Action Plan for Effective Local Government”. The seminar will also discuss the implications for community and local development organisations in County Longford and identify how the implementation process can be influenced to ensure the participation of the sector in the new structures.

Speakers on the day include Michael Ludlow, Meath Partnership and Irish Local Development Network (ILDN) representative on the Working Group on Alignment, and Dr Brendan O’Keeffe, Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick.

Representatives of community and local development organisations, statutory agencies, Councillors and TDs are invited to attend “Putting People First”, which is fully endorsed by County Longford Community and Voluntary Forum. The seminar will take place on Wednesday, July 10, from 10.30am – 1pm in Longford Women’s Link. Registration and tea/coffee will take place from 10-10.30. Registration is essential for the seminar.
