The director of public prosecutions is expected to rule on whether charges can be brought against two suspects believed to have caused damage to a car in Longford town last Saturday.

Both individuals were arrested by gardai at the scene of the incident along the county town’s Dublin Street area shortly before lunchtime.

A Garda spokesperson said no charges had yet been brought as officers now work on a file to be sent to the DPP’s office for further direction.
