Deepest sympathy to the Kenny family Whitehall and the Gallagher family Abbeylara on the sudden death of Mary Gallagher last weekend RIP.


Congrats to Gerry Shaughnessy and Ria Bartels Clonfin who announced their engagement recently.


Congrats also to Brian O'Neill, Firmount and Eileen Reilly Gelsha who announced their engagement at the weekend. We wish both couples well in their preparations.


Congrats to Noel and Miranda Brady Ballyreighen on the birth of their baby girl. We wish mother and baby good health.


All adult parishioners are invited to nominate two people 1 male , 1 female from your area to serve on the pastoral council. Do so by using the nomination slips in next weeks parish newsletter or by providing their own. Each slip to be signed and dropped into the special boxes in both churches by 31/1.


As and from 1st Feb the area of gravel in St Emer's on the right handside will be allocated as plots. If any person has any claim on this area please contact Fr Brennan before this date.


The pretty wedding took place recently of Annette daughter of Seamus and Margaret Callaghan Ballyreaghan and Paul Carrig Dublin in St James Church Clonbroney. The Mass was celebrated by Fr Gerard Brady and concelebrated by Fr Brian Brennan. The best man was Gerard Carrigy and bridesmaid Madeline Martin. Music in the church was by the Mulligan sisters. All the guests enjoyed a beautiful meal in Kilronan Castle Co Roscommon and danced the night away.

Garda Brendan McGuinness who was stationed in Ballinalee for the last two years recently retired from the force. A function to mark this occasions will take place on Fri 18th Feb in the Stags Head. All locals are invited to attend to thank Brendan for all his work for the state over his career and for the community he served during the time he was stationed in Ballinalee garda station.


Once again the party was a great success with good food great music and craic for the large attendance.


Sean Connollys AGM takes place on Fri 28th Jan at 8pm in the clubhouse.

While we were not successful at the recent Leinster scor semi final all our finalists performed very well. We were represented in figure dancing throughout the competition by the following dancers Camilla Reynolds, Cayleigh McKenna Michelle Heaney, Martina Harte Emma Doris Sharon Brady, Shauna Earlie Sinead Heaney and Mary Reynolds. Our music group were represented by Sharon and Lisa Brady Shannon Rehill and Derbhile Duggan, Kate Lynch represented us in the recitation .The standard was very high in all the above competitions so we were not lucky this year. However all present agreed that all competitors were a credit to their parents mentors and club. Thanks to Martina Reynolds for all her work and dedication to Scor.


A reward of €1,000 is being offered to anyone who may help in the succesful recovery of a Ivor Williams Hunter Horsebox that has been reported missing from a house at Kilnacarrow, Ballinalee since March 13 last. Blue in colour, those with information are asked to contact 087 6646695.
