Longford salon shortlisted for top award

A Longford hair salon has been shortlisted for one of the most widely-anticipated and attended hairdressing awards ceremonies in Ireland.

Axis Hairdressing, located at the N4 Axis Centre, is one of just three salons shortlisted for the 2016 Alfaparf Milano Fantastic Salon Award.

Having started business as Sculptures Hair Salon, Axis Hairdressing, led by Proprietor Pauline Duffy, has been to the fore in hair care in Longford for more than ten years. In 2012, the business moved to the Axis Centre and re-branded to Axis Hairdressing, though offering the same quality care and products.

Explaining the criteria they had to meet to be considered for the awards, Pauline listed; “It’s how you run your salon, your customer care and incentives you have for clients”.

“We were thrilled to be shortlisted,” she smiled.

According to Alfaparf, the  award recognises “excellence, commercial acumen and overall 'flair' in individual salons.

“It recognises and rewards the revolutionary strategy, profit-focused and committed teams, delighted customers and unique marketing activities that are at the heart of successful salons.”

The overall winner of the salon award, as well as the winners of the other categories, will be named on Sunday, November 6 in the Double Tree Hotel, Dublin, and the Axis ladies are looking forward to the occasion.

“We’re all going as a group and we’re bringing a group of friends as well.

“If we win, we win and if we don’t, we don’t, but we’ll have a good night,” Pauline concluded.
