A request for a licence to operate Horse Drawn Carriages in Longford town was unanimously turned down at last week’s meeting of Longford Municipal District.
Cllr Mae Sexton was the first to comment on the correspondence, which was shared by Cathaoirleach of Longford Municipal District, Cllr Padraig Loughrey.
“I propose we don’t go ahead with it,” she suggested.
“I don’t think Longford is suited to it, certainly at the moment, and I just propose that we do not go ahead with it,” she added.
Cllr Sexton’s words were unanimously supported by her colleagues.
