Prospective house buyers can snap up seven homes in Longford for the price of one in certain parts of Dublin.
New figures compiled by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) Longford is still the cheapest county in the country in which to purchase residential properties.
According to their latest Residential Property Price Index, an average of €79,600 will enable first time buyers to get on the property ladder.
This compares to €389,000 in Dublin City and almost €569,000 in Dún Laoighaire-Rathdown.
Roscommon and Leitrim were the next least expensive places in which to buy with averages of €94,105 and €94,572 respectively.
There are, nonetheless, cheaper areas than Longford in which to get your hands on a property.
Latest statistics for the year to July 2016 show that the least expensive postal district was Castlerea in Co Roscommon with an average dwelling price of €72,350.
