A monster truck run which took place in Longford town at the weekend is expected to raise thousands of Euros for local charities.
The run which aimed to raise funds for Irish Autism Action and Longford Hospice Home Care kicked off at 12 noon sharp and saw participants attend from all over the region.
“It was great and while we don’t know how much was raised yet - there is still money coming in - 140 lorries participated, so we are delighted,” Norman Hall, organising committee said. “There was lots of entertainment on the day and the kids had a great time as well.
“There was great action around the town.”
There was also live music throughout the day with Declan Nerney, Marty Moone, Alana Maher, Four Degrees West, Night Fever and DJ Kerrigan
Prizes on the day included best dressed lady; biggest truck belly; haired chest; 1st door ticket; 2nd door ticket; 3rd door ticket.
“I just want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who helped out and supported in any way,” added Mr Hall.
“Special thanks also to the stewards and all the sponsors.”
