Longford GAA All Stars event deferred to January 7

Longford GAA Officer Michael Carrigy, the organiser of the All Stars event.

The voting is now closed to select the 2016 Team of the Championship with the annual Longford GAA All Stars Gala Awards event in the Longford Arms Hotel, originally scheduled for Saturday December 3, deferred by the county board to Saturday 7 January.

The 2016 Team of the Championship will be revealed when the selections for the 15 positions are published in the Longford Leader at the end of December, a couple of weeks before the big event  in the Longford Arms Hotel.

The Senior, Intermediate and Intermediate ‘B’ (Junior) Championships will feature players of the year, along with the Ladies football and senior hurling championship player of the year awards.

The final phase of the selection process (text voting) will see three nominations in each of the five categories and the individual award winners will be announced at the Longford GAA All Stars Night in the Longford Arms Hotel on January 7.

The Team of the Championship event has become a very popular social occasion in the county since the awards scheme was first introduced back in 2006.  Run by Longford GAA in association with the Longford Leader, the chief organiser is County Board Officer (Central Council Delegate) Michael Carrigy who can be contacted at 087-2915072 for tickets information.
