After watching his side bow out of the All-Ireland qualifiers at the hands of Cork at Pearse Park on Saturday last, Longford manager Denis Connerton was in a reflective mood as he not only looked back at the game but the season his side have had.
“It has been great in many aspects; getting to the O’Byrne Cup Final in January was lovely. Retaining our position in Division 3 of the National League was huge for us and that was one of our main targets.
“The Leinster Championship just didn’t happen for us unfortunately and then we had the qualifiers. We are after playing 230 minutes against Division 1 opposition and it took them 210 minutes to break us down which is hard going,” stated Denis.
