LONGFORD MINOR CHAMPIONSHIP - Northern Gaels 1-17, Killoe Og 0-6

When Killoe Og suffered the shattering blow of losing the services of powerful midfielder Paddy Thompson with 23 minutes gone in the first half, there was just two between the teams.

Leading by 0-8 to 0-2 at the break, the boys from Abbeylara and Mullinalaghta (coached by William Crawford and Donal McElligott) put the issue beyond all doubt with a storming start to the second half that yielded 1-4 in the space of five minutes.
