Life without the retired Paul Barden begins for the Longford senior footballers on Sunday next when they take on Antrim in Round 2 of the National League at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, throw-in 2pm.

There is just one change on the team that drew with Leitrim at Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada on Sunday last with U-21 player Cian Farrelly (Killoe Emmet Og) making his first senior start, coming in at left-half-back for the injured Enda Williams.

Farrelly replaced Williams with just 17 minutes gone in the first half of the Round 1 fixture against Leitrim in Carrick-on-Shannon and certainly made his presence felt.

Antrim were surprisingly held to a draw at home to Carlow on Sunday last and lack of confidence may be an issue with them after flopping in Division 4 last season.

The losers at Pearse Park on Sunday will be in serious trouble and with home advantage this is clearly a must win game for Longford in their quest to gain promotion to Division 3.
