After their Intermediate Championship success the previous week, all conquering Carrickedmond have now completed a treble of titles this season (they also won the Michael Moran Cup Division 2 League) and are unbeaten all year in a tremendous total of 16 wins and a draw.

This was a very disappointing display by Rathcline, who started well with early points from Liam Connerton and James Hanley (free), but failed to register another score until the final minute of normal time when Michael Hanley converted a free.

Once Carrickedmond got going at the Cashel grounds on Friday night last, they completely dominated this one-sided encounter with Mark McDonnell setting up Conor Kelly for a well-taken goal in the 24th minute.

Eugene McCormack’s far superior side held a comfortable 1-6 to 0-2 lead at the break with their first half points coming from Marty Mulvey (2), Kelly (three frees) and McDonnell and they added another 1-4 to their tally on the changeover with midfielder Barry O’Farrell blasting home a cracking goal in the 39th minute to put the issue beyond all doubt. Their second half points were fired over by Mark McDonnell, John Gerety and substitutes Sean Kelly and John Lenehan.
