Longford have appeared in six previous finals, although victory has eluded them on each occasion to date. Manager Eugene McCormack and his team will be hoping it will be seventh time lucky.

While Kildare go into the game as favourites, Longford can draw confidence from the fact they beat a much-fancied Dublin side along the way, and showed great tenacity to hold on against a Wexford comeback in the semis.
