St Vincents Minor: Well done to the Longford U21 team on winning the Hastings Cup on Saturday last. A huge congrats to the Moyne CS on winning the Leinster Schools Rugby Competition last week. 
It was a great display and especially well done to all the St Vincents lads who were on the team. Good luck to all the local lads who are involved in playing schools football at the moment and to those who are playing colleges football. Team managers will be in touch with all players in the coming week with details of when club training will be starting.

Southern Gaels: Good luck to Andrew Farrell and Shane Cosgrove, and the rest of the Longford Vocational Schools team in the Leinster Final on Friday evening next in Pairc Ciaran, Cashel.Your support would be appreciated. The AGM of Southern Gaels Minor club takes place next Tues 29th Jan in Cashel clubhouse at 8.30pm. This is a very important meeting, as the future of gaelic football in the parishes of Cashel and Killashee, is at stake, so every parent/guardian is urged to attend, and lend a hand.

Legan Sarsfield: A very well attended AGM of our Club was held on Friday night last with wide ranging and lively debate. All outgoing officers were returned unopposed. The committee is Chairman Paul Ross; Secretary David Cranston; Treasurer Larry Bannon; President Eileen Nulty, PRO’s Colm Ward and Kevin Quaine. The Club thanked James Farrell for his hard work and good endeavours who stepped down after three years as team manager culminating in victory of 2012 Junior Championship. A new manager has been secured Tommy Keena, from Ballynacargy. Tommy comes with an impressive CV as he has managed a number of underage Westmeath teams. We wish him the best of luck in the future. He has already met with the players and has arranged training programme for Tuesday and Friday. Results of Lotto draw held in Connaughton’s Rathowen for a jackpot of €5,900. Numbers drawn were 5, 9, 21 and 23. There was no jackpot winner. Match three winners were Alice Doherty, MD+DB and Billy Keenan x2. This week’s was held in Slowey’s on Monday 21st and results will be published next week. The Club sympathises with Lily and Joe Boyce on the death of Lily’s twin brother who passed away at the weekend.

Congratulations to the Longford Under 21 team and management on winning the Hastings Cup Final at Keenan Park,Ardagh on Saturday last and particularly to our own-Robbie Smyth on his contribution to the victory. The Club wish a speedy to Colm P. and Fergal who are currently nursing injuries but hope to be fit for the opening game in the Allianz National Football League v Wexford on the first Sunday in February.

Carrickedmond Ladies: The Carrickedmond Ladies GAA held their AGM on Friday night. It was great to see so many players and parents there. We held a €50 draw for each attendee which was won by Emer Keenan and well done to her. We had a very successful 2012 and our aim is to make 2013 even more successful. The following committee was elected: Joint Chairperson Mary Burns/Rose Mulvey, Secretary: Clare Flood. Assisstant Secretary; Anne Burns/Anne Ryan. Treasurer; Elaine Kelly, Assistant Treasurer Emer Powell, PRO Frances Esler. Registrar: Sinead Moran. Irish Officer: Tara Esler/Gillian Farrell, Childrens Officer: Michelle Farrell, Development Officer: Brain Farrell. County Board Delegates: Brain Farrell, Clare Flood, Mary Burns, Rose Mulvey, Joe Esler and Laura Byrne. Niamh Mulvey has stepped down as PRO due to college commitments. We thank Niamh for her dilligence throughout 2012. We welcome Frances Esler as our new PRO and look forward to having her on our ladies GAA committee.

St. Francis Minor: Minor club AGM takes place this Friday January 25th in clubhouse at 9pm.A good attendance would be appreciated. Congratulations to the Longford under 21 panel and management on winning the Hastings cup on Saturday last.
