National Hurling League Division 4 - Round 2

Fermanagh 2-14, Longford 1-7

Wind assisted Longford had plenty of time to stage a rally but managed only two points in the entire second half. The remainder of the match was a canter for the winners who survived a sluggish start. Longford got the opening goal, a fine strike from Michael Morrissey to lead by 1-5 to 0-5 in the 30th minute.

However, Fermanagh replied in kind immediately from Antrim native Shane Mulholland who found the back of the net and the Ernesiders ended up leading by 1-8 to 1-5 at the break.

A Longford revival in the second half never materialised with the Duffy goal proving to be the killer blow and the midlanders are now virtually out of contention for a place in the Division 4 League Final with remaining fixtures to come against Leitrim (away), Cavan (home) and Tyrone (away).
