DROMARD: On Saturday last the club season started when we had Mostrim as visitors in the opening round of the Reserve league 1. Weather was dry and cold with pitch conditions good after the recent wet spell. Dromard settled into the game well and opened up a 2 point to nil lead compliments of points from play from Emmet Masterson and Noel Reynolds. The visitors drew level by virtue of points from a free and play. We then enjoyed a good spell of possession that yielded 3 points without reply, the first coming from a Gary Maguire free and the other 2 were a pointed free and effort from play from Ross McNerney. Our opponents landed a further 2 points to narrow the gap and leave the half-time score Dromard 0-5 Mostrim 0-4. Try as they might Dromard were unable to add to this total in the second half while the lively opposition added 2-3 in the second period to finish ahead on the full -time scoreline of Dromard 0-5 Mostrim 2-7. On the turnover Dromard started to play to their abilities and came right back into the game with 4 second half goals.
