St. Mary’s Granard: We are holding our Dinner Dance in Gowna next Saturday (2nd February) at which we will present the medals to our Intermediate ‘A’ and ‘B’ Championship winning teams from last year. 
These two wins were a huge boost to our club and this will be a great night of celebration. Tickets (priced at €30) are on sale from Enda O’Hara, Oliver Kiernan or any Executive member.They are also on sale in Fay’s and Kearney’s and Macken’s filling stations. Club membership is still open and can be paid to Grace Kearney or Peter Sheridan. Membership costs €50 (including insurance) for players, €30 for students (also includes insurance) and €20 for ordinary members. There was no winner of our Glotto last week and the numbers drawn were 13, 15, 17 and 27. The €30 winners were Kyle Murray, Water Lane, Matthew Connell, Ballymore and Peter Reilly c/o Fagan’s in Kilcogy. The jackpot next week will be €4350. Well done to Liam Sullivan, Ciaran Mallon, Eoin Higgins and Matti Gorman and the Longford Vocational Schools panel on their great win in the Lsinster Vocational Schols Championship final last week. Wolfe Tones: Our Annual General Meeting took place on Friday night the 18th of January in the Mostrim Arms. Minor Board Chairman Eddie Doherty gave a good account of the events of 2012. There are no changes to the Wolfe Tones committee for 2013. We will hold a meeting in the Club House this Friday night to organise underage team management for the new season. We hope to build on our success of 2012 and hopefully 2013 will bring in more silverware and numbers continue to grow from U8 upwards. We thank the staff of the Mostrim Arms for looking after us on the night. We wish our deepest sympathy to the Murray Family on the recent bereavement.

Young Grattans: The winning numbers for the weekly draw held last Sunday in the club house were 6,11,21,25. There was no wining ticket, so the following each recive 20 euro each, Celine Fallon, Pauric Ward and Jack Maguire. The jackpot for next weeks draw will be 2900. The draw will be held in the club house on Sunday at 6pm. Tickets are going well for the upcoming play to be held in the Temperance hall on Monday Feb 18th, ticket priced at 10 euro and 5 euro for oap and students come and enjoy a good night’s entertainment, door open at 7.30pm show at 8pm. Tickets on sale from any committie member. Training is set to start next month a meeting of all players will taked place next Saturday Feb 2nd in the club house all players are asked to please attend. Membership will be taken up over the coming weeks it is essential all player have membership paid to ensure you are covered to play and train. The local tug-o-war team “Stonepark Tug-o-war” are holding a table quiz next Sat in El Passo Kenagh starting at 9pm great prizes on the night your support is looked for and would be very much appericated. BALLYMAHON- FORGNEY LADIES: AGM - Our club agm takes place this Friday 1st of Feb at 8.30pm in Ballymahon GAA Clubhouse. A new committee will be elected for 2013. If you have some spare time and would like to get involved why not come along on the night. We would particularly encourage our players parents to attend on the night. Church Gate Collection: A word of thanks to all who supported our recent collection, to our volunters and to Fr. Padraig. Underage Training: Underage training has re commenced in the Vocational School Gym. U16 & U14’s every Tuesday, 7-8pm. U12 & U10’s every Wednesday 7-8pm. All players are asked to wear runners and bring €2 towards cost of gym. Any girls who may be interested in taking up Gaelic are welcome to come along on either of the above evenings.Senior Ladies Training: Our senior ladies are training on Thursday evenings at 8pm in Forgney pitch. It is very encouraging to see such good turnouts for the sessions. Again if there are any ladies interested in playing gaelic just call in on the night.

Mostrim: During the coming year we are hoping to get volunteers to help with Tidy Towns. The Club is helping out with the Gathering event planned for July and we want to help make the town look as good as possible. Volunteers can help out at any time, join in the weekly work or one of the clean up days. Those interested should give their names and contact details to Tom Victory or John McGerr. There was no jackpot winner in the last Lotto draw. Numbers drawn were 4, 10, 14 and 24. Twenty-five Euro winners were Rose Lynn, Maggie McGerr, Kathleen Clyne c/o Parkhouse Hotel and Damien Clyne. Admission: Adults 10 euro, Students & Senior Citizens 5 euro. U.16 Club groups are free entry and one adult free with every 10 U.16s. There will also be half time draws. Mouthguards/Gumshields are now compulsory for all Minor players up to and including minor level. This rules applies to both matches and training sessions.A range of official OPRO GAA/GPA mounthguards are avaliable for purchasing, more information can be found at www.gaa.ie/mouthguards. You will not be permitted to train or play if you do not have a mouthguard/gumshield. Congratulations to the U.21 Longford team coached by Eugene Mc Cormack and including Barry O’Farrell, Garreth Higgins & Oisin Farrell on the panel who had a terrific win in the Hastings Cup Final recently. Further congratulations to the Longford Vocational Schools team which includes club players Patrick Farrell and Martin Mc Goey who won the Leinster Vocational Schools Senior Football Final in Newtowncashel last Friday night. A coaching forum for all clubs will be held in Pearse Park on Monday Feb 4th at 7.30pm. This is an opportunity for all clubs to put forward what they want in helping and upskilling coaches.Best wishes to Pat Cahill who completed his 5 year term as Chairman of Longford County Board recently. Minor - Northern Gaels: Registration night for 2013 will take place this Friday night February 1st in the Laurels, Mullinalaghta and in the Indoor Handball Centre Abbeylara from 8pm to 9pm. Fee is €10 per player or €20 per family. As and from 2013, mouthguards will be compulsory for ALL players within the club for training and games. If a player attends a game or training session without a mouthguard, he/she will not be allowed to partake in the event. From the beginning of this year, you can now follow the club on Facebook. Congrats to the Cnoc Mhuire U16 basketball team on their recent win and to the county Vocational team on winning the Leinster title. Finally, the club expresses its deepest sympathy to Fr. Campbell on the death of his mother.

Rathcline: Club membership is now open to everyone for the 2013 season. Prices are as follows: €20 for non-playing members and €50 for players. Hurling - Wolfe Tones: Congratulations to our senior team who won the first silverware of the year when they defeated Lisanaskea of Fermanagh in the final of the Lucas O’Reilly Memorial Cup at the 3G pitch in Cavan on Sunday last. The final score was 1-10 to 0-07 and this was despite conceding the first 4 points to the opposition. Our captain Eoin Donnellan accepted the cup on behalf of the team as well as the man-of-the-match trophy. The Connacht Tain League commences this Saturday with a home game against Ballinamore at 2pm. Can all panel members be in the dressing rooms no later than 1.15pm. The remaining fixtures are as follows: February 9th away to James Stephens of Ballina; February 16th away to Castlebar Mitchells; March 2nd at home to Sylane of Galway and finally April 6th at home to Cuil Irra of Sligo. The Club would like to wish Rory O’Donohue the best of luck in his new position as Secretary of the County Hurling Board. Well done to Mick McCormack on the fine results achieved with both the boys and girls schools teams in the indoor competitions recently.

St. Brigid’s Killashee: Our Lotto draw which took place in The Richmond Inn, Clondra on Sunday night last, 27th January. There was no jackpot winner. GRANARD MINOR: We held our annual Minor AGM on Friday 25th of January in our new clubhouse.it was a great success and the and a great turnout despite the bad weather conditions, I would like to thank Patrick maguire for his commitment for the last seven years as secretary and Thomas harkins for his commitment as chairman, I would like to welcome all new members to our minor set-up, Enda Murphy who took up the role as chairman Liam tully is stayin as vice chairman, Adnan Moran who took the role of secretary and Robert pakenham as our new assistant secetary,our treasurer is still margaret brady,our new assistant treasurer is Anne Kenny, our new PRO is Finbar Moran,our Irish officers are Anne Kenny and Johanna O’Hara, Bridie mallan is staying as our ASAP officer,therese smith is staying on as our child welfare officer,and our county board delegates are John O’Hara, Gabriel Kenny, Nigel Kiernan and Enda Murphy (sub). A key fob system has now been installed in the gym in Emmet Park. Key fobs are available for each member wishing to avail of the gym facilities. A deposit of E10 is payable for each fob which are available from Jimmy Halpin. This system will ensure the security of the gym and all persons wishing to use the gym must be in possession of a fob. The club will have 4 teams involved in leagues this year so there will be games for all people interested in playing. Congratulations to the Longford U 21 team and management on their recent victory in the Hastings Cup. This team was backboned by a number of Killoe players and captained by Padraig McCormack. Well done to all involved. A night out in Dublin is being planed for Friday night the 8th February 2013. This event is taking place at The Irish House Party music pub and restaurant 19, Francis Street, Dublin. It is being ran as the start of Killoe’s contribution to the gathering event. It is hoped that all persons residing in the greater Dublin area will come along and support the event as well as anyone from the Parish who fancies a good night out in Dublin. The Sean Connolly Cup as well as a number of the Killoe players will be in attendance on the night. The Irish House Party pub is part owned by Declan Quinn, son of Gerry originally from Traenlawn and it is renowned as a great venue for Irish Traditional music, song and dance.
