Brid McGoldrick only new face at top table

Described by Longford GAA President Jimmy Fox as the quietest Convention in 40 years, there were no contests for any of the positions on the 2012 County Board Executive with all the outgoing officers returned unopposed in Aras Ui Bhriain, Pearse Park, on Monday night last.

But there is one new face at the top table with Killoe Young Emmets club member Brid McGoldrick, the outgoing ASAP Officer, nominated to take over the new position of Chidlren’s Officer created by rule at Congress last April to replace the role of Youth Officer (previously held by Carrickedmond clubman Eugene Quaine) - a post which has now become defunct.
