Cnoc Mhuire U-16s hammer St. David’s

The all conquering Cnoc Mhuire, Granard U-16 footballers qualified for the Leinster Schools Junior ‘B’ Football Final when they hammered Dublin opponents St. David’s, Artane in a completely one-sided clash played in perfect conditions at the Kinnegads grounds on Tuesday of last week.

The talented Cnoc Mhuire team played some excellent football and worked some great scores, with Fionnan O’Reilly’s first half goal and Conor Mallon’s second half goal both resulting from moves which started in the full-back-line.

The Granard school now await the winners of St. Mary’s, Edenderry or Portlaoise CBS in the final. Although either team would be formidable opponents, Cnoc Mhuire will certainly be confident having already won the All-Ireland Vocational Schools Junior ‘A’ title in a very successful season for the U-16 squad.
