Dromard and Mostrim will have to do it all again this weekend after both sides played out an entertaining draw in the Leader Cup quarter-final at Pairc na nGael on Saturday evening last.
And while Mostrim hope the added bonus of home advantage in the replay on Sunday next will aid their cause, the Edgeworthstown outfit should probably have won at the first attempt as Dromard were forced to play the entire second half as well as extra-time with 14 men.
That’s because star forward Francis McGee was given a straight red card by referee Patrick Maguire for a high challenge on Mostrim defender Paddy Smith just after half-time.
Whatever about the dismissal of McGee, it was Mostrim who up until that point looked the more likely to book their place against Clonguish in the Leader Cup semi-final.
