Four housess in Granard’s Beechwood housing estate were the subject of a property auction hosted by Sherry Fitzgerald McGill in the Longford Arms Hotel yesterday afternoon.
The houses, two four-bedroom and two three-bedroom properties, all carried reserves of €20,000 going into the auction, and approximately 15 people turned out to witness proceedings.
The best performing properties were the four-bedroom homes. No. 42 Beechwood sold for €29,000, and was followed closely by No. 44 which was sold after a bid of €25,000 was received.
The reserve price was met for both three-bedroom buildings, although No. 46 Beechwood only reached that point after an initial offer of €16,000 was received.
Auctioneer Fintan McGill confirmed that another lot of six houses at Mac Art Meadows on Longford’s Drumlish Road had been sold prior to the auction. While he couldn’t reveal the sale price, Mr McGill said the lot sold for a figure “in excess of the reserve price of €50,000.”
