Land Rover Brand Ambassador, Jamie Heaslip, was presented with his new Range Rover Sport for 2014 just before the start of the Six Nations Championships.
He took the car for its first spin off-road at Carton House, Co Kildare before he had to take to the pitch.
A self-proclaimed Land Rover enthusiast, Heaslip has been an Ambassador for the brand since 2011. According to the accompanying press release: “Power, agility and strength of character are qualities that sum up both Land Rover and the great competitive rugby he plays.”
We are told that Jamie has driven the Land Rover Discovery for the past twp years and was, not surprisingly, delighted to take delivery of his new Range Rover Sport.
“I’m a big fan of Land Rover and have been looking forward to getting into the new Range Rover Sport. I’ve really enjoyed putting it through its paces off-road,” he explained.
According to the Range Rover website, the new Range Rover Sport has set the fastest recorded time for a land vehicle crossing of the ‘Empty Quarter’ - one of the harshest and most challenging desert environments on the planet. Whether or not that qualifies it for the hardy terrain of the N4 is not quite clear.
Prices for the all-new Range Rover Sport in Ireland start from €84,360. For more information or to arrange a test drive log onto www.landrover.ie or visit your local Land Rover dealership.
