New Longford Leaders hope to get fit

The official Longford Operation Transformation group is now up and running thanks to the Drumlish woman Orla Dunne from Drumlish. The group is officially called “The Longford Leaders”.

The official Longford Operation Transformation group is now up and running thanks to the Drumlish woman Orla Dunne from Drumlish. The group is officially called “The Longford Leaders”.

“We had our first official weigh in and did our first official walk on Sunday 6th January, 8km for our first real walk is just briliant,” Orla told the Leader.

“We had a great turn out even the rain cant stop this gang. It was a really really pleased with our turnout. Hope it keeps on going and just gets better and better. Our next walk is Tuesday 8th January at 7.30pm,” Orla continued.

She added that Cllr Martin Mulleady has volunteered to help out and is going to do four 1.5-2 hrs sessions with the group over the next eight weeks.

“We are so appreciative of Martin’s time and expertise. We are still open to anyone who would like to join us. The more the merrier. See you all Tuesday and if you cant come Tuesday we are also going again Thursday at 7.30p.m. in the Mall Complex Longford,” she said.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Longford Sports & Leisure Centre (The Mall Complex) for giving us a room to have our weigh in’s for the next eight weeks.

The Operation Transformation TV series started on RTE TV last night.
