Well the one thing you can say about the new C4 Cactus from Citroen is that is certainly will stand out.
You’ll be high-tailing it along the roads of North Longford and you quite literally could be stopping traffic. The design of this compact hatchback is not the only feature of the Cactus (where, oh where, do they get the names for these cars?).
This is what the blurb says: “Boasting a striking design, the New Citroën C4 Cactus stands out from its rivals in the competitive C segment, offering a unique style that is both functional and attractive. In doing so, Citroën meets a specific challenge – bringing customers more of what really counts.”
In reality, this is much more than a funky design. The Cactus has an fantastic spec and includes feature such as Park Assist which carries out parking manoeuvres automatically when a suitable space has been identified and a reversing camera makes light work of parking with the image displayed on the touchscreen.
It also boasts a large panoramic sunroof featuring advanced heat protection (the best available on the market), designed to filter light and reflect heat.
It is about 200kgs lighter than the C4 and its running costs aree approximately 20% less than those in the hatchback segment. By making the vehicle lighter, Citroën has been able to adopt smaller latest-generation engines, which reduce fuel consumption whilst maximising driveability.
So check out the new Cactus from Citreon. There’s nothing prickly about it. (Sorry couldn’t resist)
