A young group of musicians who have just recorded their own CD will finally get to launch it this Saturday night in Arva, after the initial date in December had to be cancelled owing to severe bad weather.

A young group of musicians who have just recorded their own CD will finally get to launch it this Saturday night in Arva, after the initial date in December had to be cancelled owing to severe bad weather.

Rl g are a fantastic group of musicians who are just breaking onto the trad circuit. They have been playing together for almost two and a half years now.

There are six members in the group, ranging in age from 11 years up to 16 years.

Rl g are: Emmett Lynch (bodhran), Maria Matthews (flute, whistle, vocals), Cillian Hourican (fiddle), LiaM Doherty (banjo, bouzouki, guitar), Hannah McEntee (button accordion) and Laura Doherty (fiddle).

An award-winning group of musicians, they have numerous All Ireland titles and most recently they won the U18 Anglo Celt busking competition at the All Ireland Fleadh Ceol in Cavan.

They have just recorded their first album "Off Da Wall" which they will be launching in the Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva, Co Cavan on Saturday, January 22nd at 8pm. The album has 14 tracks of fabulous tunes and songs on it.

Eugene Murphy from Shannonside radio will be MC on the night, who will introduce the fantastic line-up of guests appearing on the night to support Rl g.

Shaskeen members Tom Cussen and Eamon Cotter, Mick Foster, Martin Murphy, Noel Carberry, Eamon Maguire, Noel Sweeney, Fionnula Maxwell are just some of the musicians who will be in Arva on Saturday to lend their support for the band's new CD launch.

Rl g have had the pleasure of playing support to Dervish and Rig the Jig which were fantastic moments for them.
