Recent graduates of the LWL Certifcate in Public Relations and Publicity Skills.

Longford Women’s Link (LWL) has confirmed that the first ever class to undertake the Irish Academy’s Certificate in Public Relations and Publicity Skills in Longford have all achieved their certification. Twelve students recently received their results and LWL would like to congratulate all of them. LWL became a partner college of the Irish Academy of Public Relations in April 2012 and will be offering both the Certificate in PR and a Diploma in Event Management this September.

The partnership between LWL and the Irish Academy offers individuals in Longford and surrounding counties the opportunity to gain valuable and relevant training in Public Relations, Publicity Skills and Event Management. This is a highly marketable skill which can be used in business, voluntary organisations, PR departments or consultancy services.

LWL has been providing training and education services in Longford since 1995, under the principles of Women’s Community Education and have seen this service grow and progress over the years. In September 2011 a new custom-built training facility was launched, providing a much needed venue for LWL’s ever expanding curriculum of courses.

LWL are also now taking applications for the forthcoming Certificate in Addiction Studies which is being run on an Outreach basis through NUI Maynooth and is open to all interested applicants. This is the latest outreach programme being offered by LWL, as the organisation also has a long standing relationship with UCD having delivered their Women’s Studies Certificate and Diploma on an outreach basis for the past ten years (part funded by County Longford VEC).

LWL’s new custom-built training facility is also available for room rental at competitive rates.

If interested in room rental, attending any of the above courses or would like further information please contact Pamela Latimer, Training and Education Business Development Manager, LWL at 043 3341511 or see www.longfordwomenslink.org.
