Specsavers officially opened in Longford Town this morning (Tuesday, March 25), creating seven new jobs for the area. It’s the 46th Specsavers store to open in Ireland since 1991

Speaking about the opening, which was attended by Longford native and Irish country singer Declan Nerney and Longford Town Mayor Cllr Paul Connell, Store Director Fiona Ferguson commented,

“Specsavers is passionate about providing fashionable and affordable eyecare for everyone. Our new store located in the heart of Longford Town is fully equipped to deliver the best in eye testing technology to our customers. We look forward to welcoming everyone into the store to see for themselves the great range of glasses available, as well as availing of the on-site eye testing facilities.”

Situated in a prime location at 17 Ballymahon Street, the new store houses two dedicated testing rooms overseen by Ophthalmic Director Fiona Ferguson, along with a team of highly trained optical assistants, to ensure a high level of service.

Customers can avail of the latest state-of-the-art eye testing facilities, including digital retinal photography. This sophisticated process uses a camera to produce detailed images of the back of the eye that can assist in the detection and management of a variety of health issues, including diabetes, inflammatory disorders, age related macular degeneration, vascular occlusions and tumors.

Those seeking the latest in fashionable glasses need look no further than Specsavers in Longford, which carries affordable designer ranges from top brands such as GW by Gok Wan, FCUK, Jasper Conran, Tommy Hilfiger, Red or Dead, Timberland, Missoni and Karen Millen. With over 1,200 frames on display, including the recently launched John Rocha and exclusive Aurora ranges, there really is something to suit everyone’s style and wallet. Staff can also offer customers expert advice to contact lens wearers.

Customers can expect great value offerings at Specsavers Longford, in both eyecare and hearing services, with medical cards and PRSI accepted. The store also has an on-site lab offering a one-hour service to customers.
