Her company may have missed out on a top award at one of Ireland’s premier business awards earlier this month, but that isn’t stopping Samantha Gavigan in her attempts to bring her online stationery firm to the next level.
The Ardagh businesswoman, and her Paper Republic brainchild, was one of eight nominees from across the country to receive nominations for the finals of the Confetti Magazine’s Creative Awards 2013.
And while that success didn’t culminate in securing the inaugural event’s chief accolade, the experience is one she believes could boost her business in the long term.
“Sure, it would have been nice to have won, but the exposure we got was fantastic,” she said, days after the finals were held at Dublin’s Merrion Hotel. One aspect of that ‘exposure’ came when she, along with a number of other companies on the night, took part in a wedding showcase.
Around 100 brides and guests came and saw what each firm had to offer with photographs also being taken, the contents of which are set to feature in Confetti Magazine’s winter edition.
