Longford Chamber of Commerce have announced details of the return of their annual summer BBQ.
The event will take place on Friday, August 19 and the venue is Eddie Valentine’s Spiral eBar and weather permitting (fingers crossed!) the beer garden at the rear of the landmark premises. Festivities will get underway at 6pm.
This is the first event under the tenure of new President, Derek Scanlon, and he told that Leader there has already been huge interest in advance ticket sales. He said: “As well as a great opportunity to get out and relax, it is also an opportunity to meet other businesses.”
The Leader understands that representatives from several of the major local employers will attend as well as senior personnel from Center Parcs.
The evening will get underway at 6pm with Prosecco or for the more partisan St Mel’s beer, on arrival.
Food will be served up by local hero Louie Herterich from his famous BBQ trailer and a cocktail of jazz and blues music will set the tone for the evening. One of the county’s leading DJs will then gets the feet tapping and the tongues wagging!
Said the newly elected President: “We are encouraging people to make an evening of it and bring their staff and colleagues along. It is one of the last weekends before the so called summer ends and the children go back to school so it’s a great chance to get together.”
Tickets are available from Chamber members and cost €10 each or contact the Chamber on 087-7786834.
