The event will help attendees hone their skills in networking and sales as well as encourage them to make business contacts from across the four counties.

This event marks the close of Longford Women’s Link’s successful Female Entrepreneur Mentoring (FEM) Programme which is due to finish on June 30th 2011. The Programme is funded under the Department of Justice, Equality and Defence’s Equality for Women Measure (Strand 2) which focuses on Developing Female Entrepreneurship. Participants in the FEM Programme have been drawn from the counties of Longford and Westmeath and the project has seen 15 female led start-ups (mentees) matched with 15 well-established and successful businesswomen (mentors).

Addressing those in attendance will be influential key note speakers, Anne Heraty, CEO of CPL Resources plc and James Burke, Managing Director of James Burke and Associates and a leading consultant within the food manufacturing and retail sector in Ireland.

This will be followed by a coordinated Speed Networking Event facilitated by Ruth Daly of Sort-it. Ruth is an experienced networking facilitator and has over eight years experience training business owners in a number of different areas, such as enterprise development and support, female entrepreneurship, marketing, programme evaluation and programme management.

The day allows ample opportunity for participants to continue networking and visit the showcase exhibition stands on the day which feature businesses from across the four counties. The event will conclude with a light lunch.

Speaking ahead of the event, Paula Hynes, FEM Project Coordinator said, “Inter county events such as this prove to be very effective in helping women in business to build a wealth of resources, distribution networks and important contacts while keeping the ‘finger on the pulse’ of the business world they move in.”

Registration and networking begins at 9:15 am and the event runs until 2:30pm.

Places at the “Women in Business Inter County Networking and Showcase Event” are available at a cost of €10 per person and Showcase exhibition stands are available, on a first come first served basis, at €50 each.
