Irish homewares firm Homestore + More has been confirmed as the latest tenant to take up residence inside Longford’s N4 Axis Centre.

As first revealed by the Leader back in June, the home furnishing and retail chain is to take over the former premises previously occupied by Homebase.

James Morgan, Managing Partner of the N4 Axis Centre said the announcement would provide a welcome boost to Longford’s jobs market.

“It’s likely this will create between 25 to 30 new jobs,” said Mr Morgan.

“They (firm) have moved in already to carry out a fit-out of the store.”

The Longford businessman rejected suggestions there had been any hold-up, stressing company chiefs were fully focused on opening the new store by early November.

“First and foremost, Homebase’s lease only ended on August 21.

“As with most things there were some legal complexities and this didn’t happen overnight, but it’s well worth it in the end,” he added.
