One of the country’s most pre-eminent business organisations has given the thumbs up to increased efficiency in the speed of payments made to small businesses.

The Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association, or ISME, welcomed the improvement in commercial payments in the first quarter of the year, at the launch of the SME Credit Watch Survey, last week .

In spite of overall credit having improved, the association continued its demand for a strict statutory 30 day payment regime for all businesses trading within Ireland, to be phased in over 3 years.
