Fresh from the Leader’s revelation last week that variety retail chain Mr Price had secured a premises in the town, Costa Coffee has confirmed it will open in Longford Retail Park (across from Aldi) with the creation of 12 jobs.

“We’re delighted to be opening our first Costa Coffee store in Longford,” said Regional Manager Brian McMahon, ahead of the planned opening later this month.

It brings to over 70 the number of jobs created by retailers in recent months at various locations throughout Longford town.

Frozen food chain Iceland were first to detail expansion plans back in August. This was followed soon after by announcements from Shaws, €urogiant, Mr Price and now Costa Coffee.

News of Longford’s latest employment boost also comes following Enterprise Minister Richard Bruton’s visit to the county town last night (Tuesday) for a special jobs forum think-in.
