Zetor is finalising plans for the introduction here early next year of their new 80hp, 4-wheel drive Zetor Major.

The new Major is seen by their distributor Zetor Sales Ireland as an important new model introduction, arriving as it will into a segment of the market that currently accounts for between 10% - 15% of total tractor sales in Ireland.A feature in its favour will be a competitive selling price which Zetor forecasts will be around the EUR30,000 level (incl VAT).In the pipeline also for later in the year is the introduction of a 2-wheel drive version of the new Major powered by the same 80hp engine.Looking ahead to 2013 generally, Zetor is predicting a modest increase in the overall market in Ireland with Zetor poised to increase its share.Plans to achieve that goal include a proposed realignment of its dealer network with appointments to be made in areas where Zetor is not currently represented. Coupled with this is a determination on the part of Zetor HQ to protect Ireland’s position as one of their top-10 markets internationally – a goal they plan to achieve through the launch of technologically advanced models at very competitive prices. Other factors that will underpin this objective, according to Zetor Sales MD, Tim Shanahan, will be seen in design changes and other improvements within the model line-up.
