Agricultural Shows

The launch of the County Longford Show and Country fair took place at the County Library last Monday night. The event was well attended and the classes and activities on the day were discussed in detail. This year’s show takes place in Moydow and more details will be made available next week.

Meanwhile, the launch of the Granard Agricultural Show will take place tonight Wednesday, at 9pm sharp in John V. Donohoe’s Lounge. Full details of this year’s exciting come back by the show’s organisers will emerge in next week’s Leader, while the launch of the much anticipated Colmcille Ploughing will be held at Joe Murtagh’s on July 20 next at 9pm. This year’s event takes place over two days – August 4 and 5 – and will be held on the land of Kieran Williams, Culray.
