The Killeen-Bunlahy Vintage Working Day on Sunday last was one of the most successful fundraising events ever held in the picturesque north Longford Parish.

The crowds gathered from across Co Longford and beyond to enjoy a fun-filled day out for all the family and in doing so helped the local committee to raise some much needed funds to build a new community centre in the area.

“We were blessed with the weather and it really was a great day,” said Ms Monaghan. “There was a very large crowd there and we had lots of winners on the day as well. I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone for all their help and support because this was an important fundraiser as we continue to try and raise funds for our new community centre.”

Proceedings kicked off at 12:30pm and continued throughout the day until 5:30pm when spectators and participants alike begin to retire for the evening, and all the while the sun shined. There was a bit of everything to suit everyone from kids entertainment to loy digging, vintage displays, games and indeed lots, lots more.

Results will be published in next week’s Leader.
