Lir Agri, agricultural hygiene specialists, have invested more than €1 million in a new research and manufacturing facility in Granard.

Six new jobs were created with the launch and plans are in place to double the workforce over the next few months.

Lir Agri develops and manufactures a range of hygiene and cleaning products for the dairy and pig sectors. Equipped with state-of-the-art research and development labs, the company is focused on bringing innovation and quality to dairy hygiene products. Their hygiene products are designed to solve the issues dairy farmers will face as they expand post 2015, including additional testing and stricter regulations.

Owner and manager Micheal Savage said, “Lir Agri strives to develop the most effective, high quality products for farmers.

“We undertake a huge amount of research so we can confidently say our products are a very exclusive and premium Irish product.

“We have teamed up with Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT) in the area of research and that is an exciting development for us as they have excellent research facilities.

“It is our vision to strive for a sustainable dairy industry in Ireland”
