Get ready to have a great laugh in Longford this month, as the town’s first comedy gig gets underway.
Taking place at the Little Blue Room at the back of John Browne’s bar, Market Square on Saturday, November 26, ‘Longford Laughs Out Loud’ will welcome comedians from Longford, Galway, Mullingar and Dublin for a night of fun.
Outlining her reason for kick-starting this initiative, organiser Maggi McKenna explained; “I have always wanted to do stand-up comedy myself so I braved it this year and decided to do something about it. So I thought, ‘what better way than to have an evening in Longford?’”
“[We’ll] see how it goes, if it’s successful, I will put on another one.
“Mullingar has a comedy club every Thursday and it’s very successful so hopefully this will take off.”
The evening will get off to an hilarious start from 9pm and tickets cost just €5.
Along with the line-up, there are two open mic slots available for any budding local comedians to test their material.
