This show has attracted large audiences all over Ireland over the past seven years and is fast becoming the most popular source of fund-raising for schools and clubs.

Contestants are drawn from ticket sales and each contestant will play for €1000. The show is fully computerised with 50/50, Ask the Audience and a brilliant video linked Phone a Friend. The questions and four possible answers and displayed on two 8ft x 6ft screens, one at each side of the stage.

This incredibly successful show, which is provided by Pallas Marketing Ltd, is being run by Drumlish Community Development Group to assist in fundraising for a car park and further refurbishments at Drumlish Community Centre and St Mary’s National School, Drumlish. The launch night for the show was held in Cassidy’s Lounge, Drumlish on March 6th and a large attendance included representatives of main sponsors, Larkin Aluminium, Keane’s Costcutter, Green Pasture Meats, Kiernan’s Centra, Mulleadys Ltd, Dial-a-Chef, Mulleady Civil Engineering, Cassidy’s Bar and Lounge and Tom Shanahan from Pallas Marketing (show providers). The first tickets for the event were purchased by local football greats Pauric Davis and Martin Mulleady.

We spoke to committee member Leo Devaney about the show at the launch night who advised as follows:

“We have been in contact with several other groups who ran, “Who wants to be a Thousandaire?” shows around the country with great success. We are all looking forward to a great night on the 7th of April as the show is really hi-tech and offers a superb night’s entertainment. The show is timed to start at 8.30pm and we would encourage people to come early to ensure a seat” said Leo.

He added: “We would also like to say a particular word of thanks to our major sponsors, and to all of those who have taken out advertising at the show,” he continued.

There is still some large screen digital advertising space available for the show, please contact 0872976538 for further information.

Tickets for “Who wants to be a Thousandaire?” are available from any member of the fundraising committee or at the door on the night.
