Table quiz

A table quiz in aid of Focus Ireland is being held in the Community Centre in Ardagh on Good Friday, April 18.

Fundraiser

Local girl Nicola Lyons is returning to India for a second time on April 28 to help young, vulnerable children. Nicola needs to raise €1,650 for the trip, and will be hosting a fundraiser in the Longford Arms Hotel on Saturday, April 19. There will be music on the night by Pascal Flaherty, and there will also be a raffle and auction.

Launch

The Longford branch of Pieta House is holding its launch at Tesco at 12 noon on Saturday, April 19.

Granard Easter Festival

The annual Granard Easter Festival will take place on Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20. Saturday’s highlights include a historic walk of Granard and a 5k walk/jog/run, while excitement is building ahead of the parade on Easter Sunday.

Edgeworthstown Litter Pickers

A concert to officially launch the Edgeworthstown Tidy Towns fundraising CD ‘Edgeworthstown Litter Pickers’, will take place on Easter Sunday night, April 20 in the Park House Hotel. Starting at 9pm, a local dance competition will take place, and there will be performances by the local artists featured on the CD.

1916 commemoration

The annual county Longford Easter 1916 commemoration will take place on Easter Sunday, April 20 in Clonguish old cemetery.

Mr & Mrs

A Mr & Mrs event, organised by Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club will take place in the Lough Lene Inn on Easter Sunday, April 20.
