Here, we have a round up of events, catering for everyone from sports fans to art-lovers.

Friday, September 20:

Providers on Main Street, Longford will be transformed into an art gallery, as “Engage” is launched on Culture night. The exhibition will open at 7pm, and will be open to the public until Sunday, September 29.

Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21:

Ballyleague will host the “Rock around the Anchor” festival in aid of Meningitis Research.

Saturday, September 21:

The staff and management of Lidl, Longford will take part in a car wash in aid of Barrettstown Children’s Camp from 10am to 6pm.

Saturday, September 21:

Longford Town’s new pitch development will be officially launched at City Calling Stadium, Longford. A sod turning ceremony will be carried out by former Blackburn, Newcastle and Manchester United player Keith Gillespie. Refreshments and launch will take place in the clubhouse at 5.10pm.

Saturday, September 21:

Longford BRÍ will host a Brain Injury Global Picnic at the Rugby Club, Longford. Supporters and members of BRÍ Longford will be in attendance, along with a few special guests and there will be entertainment for all the family.

Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22:

Longford will become Little Mayo for the weekend as Mayo take on Dublin in the All-Ireland Football Final.

Sunday, September 22:

A little further afield, local musicians Aisling McCarthy and Kevin Farrell will be performing at the Sugar Club on Leeson Street, Dublin as part of Conor Quinn and the White Chalk.
