On Saturday October 22 the charity CD “A Common Gift” will be officially launched in the Kon Tiki bar in Rooskey by Mayor of Roscommon, Eugene Murphy. All are invited to attend the launch of the CD which is in aid of the Kilglass-Whitehall Association supporting people with special needs and STOP suicide.

Music on the night will be provided by Cormac Judge and many of the CD contributors will be there too. The CD will be on sale in selected shops around the region from Monday October 24.

Singing stars Cathy Jordan, Charlie McGettigan and Paul Harrington as well as established local artists Gobsmacked have put their support behind the Roscommon-Leitrim charity initiative to raise money for charity.

“A Common Gift” is a CD showcasing talent from around the region with the aim of raising €10,000 for two charities and it features tracks recorded specifically for it by Cathy, Charlie and Paul.

Project organisers wanted to showcase young talent as well as record some more senior performers for posterity and were thrilled to bits when the Leitrim and Roscommon icons agreed to throw their weight behind the project.

Other artists taking part include Mae Baxter, Marie Bolger, Linda Corcoran, Raymond Diffley, Fr Kevin Fallon, Gobsmacked, Paul Gurney, Siofra Jordan, Katie King, Derek Mahady, Eileen McGeown, John McGowan, Rose and Benedict Morris, Eimear and Andrew Reynolds, Shirley Rogers, Shane Rushe and Danny Sheerin.
