Friday, November 1:

Longford town’s promotion/relegation play-off game against Bray Wanderers will kick off at 7.45pm at City Calling Stadium.

‘Ballymahon – A Journey Back in Time’ will be launched in Cooney’s Hotel, Ballymahon at 8pm.

The annual Pioneer dance will be held in the Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule. Dinner served at 9pm.

A special water ski will take place on Christmas morning as a tribute to the late Brian King. A launch of this event will be held in Strokestown Golf Course at 9pm. All are welcome. Music and refreshments on the night.

Longford triathlon club will undertake a 24 hour triathlon for charity, starting at 6pm. Taking place in the Mall Complex, Longford, the triathlon will continue until 6pm on Saturday, November 2 to raise money for Longford hospice.

The Solas Art Gallery, Ballinamore, will open an exhibition consisting of a selection from the Boyle Civic Art Collection. The exhibition will be opened at 7.30pm by Barry Feely, Curator of the Boyle Civic Art Collection.

Arva Church of Ireland are holding a Variety Concert featuring Mrs Brown’s Boys and local artists at 8pm in the Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva. All proceeds in aid of parish funds.

Colette Kelly optometry will celebrate 50 years in business in the store, with children’s activities, giveaways, offers and refreshments.

A fundraiser for Rehab Dun Laoghaire “Kevin Masterson says thanks” takes place in Fox’s Lounge, Tooman. Music by Eddie Quinn. Refreshments will be served.

Halloween Fancy Dress will take place in the Western Gem, Ballinalack starting at 8.30pm. Live music and refreshments on the night.

The Market Bar, Longford will hold a raffle in aid of Temple Street Children’s Hospital. Tickets for the draw are currently onsale at €4 each.

Longford County Choir will perform in St Mary’s Church, Granard at 7.30pm.
