Local musician Declan Nerney has teamed up with Dublin funnyman Brendan Grace to release a charity single for the Irish Cancer Society. The Longford country legend and Grace’s well-known character “Bottler” opened the Late Late Show on Friday March 29th with their song “Things Are Changing Fast.”

Speaking on the Late Late Show last Friday, Declan explained that the song was an idea of Brendan’s but they never had a reason to record it until now. The duo decided to record the song with all proceeds going to the Irish Cancer Society due to the significant decrease in funds collected by the society during their annual Daffodil Day fundraiser. As Brendan explained; “Daffodil Day as you all know came and went, and unfortunately it came in very very bad weather.”

The Irish Cancer Society have expressed their concern that the loss in Daffodil Day funds may mean a struggle to provide the same services in 2014 as in previous years.

The single will soon be available in shops and to download. Check www.cancer.ie/news in the coming weeks for details on where the single can be purchased. All proceeds from the single go to the Irish Cancer Society which offers valuable support and services to those suffering from or being affected by cancer.
