Presented by Loco and Reckless Productions in association with Nomad Theatre Network, the spellbinding ‘The Far Off Hills’ by Lennox Robinson is coming to the Backstage Theatre in Longford on Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6 at 8.30pm.

Directed by Mikel Murfi, the show stars Steve Blount (Moone Boy, and HBO’s Game of Thrones), Julie Sharkey (Fair City), Caoimhe O’Malley (Reign) and Niamh McGrath (Calvary), with set and costume design by Sabine Dargent and lighting design by Nick McCall.

Set in a sleepy town in rural Ireland, everything is set to change in the lives of Patrick Clancy and his three daughters.

One of the stars, Julie Sharkey, is from Ballaghadereen Co-Roscommon, and has previously told the Leader that she spent “tons of time in Granard as a child”, as her mother hails from the area.

She is excited to return back to Longford as she has “fond memories of Granard”.

Julie also revealed that ‘The Far off Hills’ has been “a joy” to work on.

A hilarious comedy show, not to be missed, ‘The Far off Hills is guaranteed to leave the audience rolling in their seats.

Tickets, costing 18/€16 are now available from the Backstage Theatre Box Office on 043 33 47888 or online at www.backstage.ie.
