Well known soprano singer Emer Barry, who comes from Longford town, has recorded a charity single to raise funds for St Vincent de Paul.

‘O Holy Night’, which she recorded with the other members of her classical-crossover group, Affinití, also features the Palestrina Boys Choir, Carlow Choral Society, and the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

Affinití approached SVP about the possibility of recording the single following a concert last September, which was hosted to celebrate the bi-centenary of the charity’s presence in the Dublin region.

The recording features three other tracks, which can all be downloaded from iTunes for €3.96, while ‘O Holy Night’ alone costs €0.99.

Emer was the guest soprano at last week’s Longford County Choir Annual Concert which was held in the St Mel’s Cathedral Centre.

Photos from the night are on page 50 of this week’s Longford Leader.
