Showband favourites Gina, Dale Haze and The Champions make a very welcome return to The Park House Hotel in Edgeworthstown on Saturday, Aug 6th. This will be their only Midlands date on a very special tour of dancing dates. So it’s a night not to be missed for all music fans.
Gina, Dale Haze and The Champions were one of the most popular bands on the dancing and concert scene in Ireland during the 1970s, 1980s and into the 90s with over 20 hit singles, several best selling albums and appearances on numerous television and radio shows. They were undoubtly Ireland’s Top dancing Attraction for many years and attracted huge crowds to their dances all over the country.
Their many hits include Do Ya Wanna Do It, The Greatest Lover, Minnie Minnie, Drunken Sailor, Give Me Back My Love and of course their debut hit Dreams Are Good Friends.
After almost 20 years touring together, the band members all went their separate ways in the early 90s, some staying in the music business and others choosing to get out of it altogether. In 2007 they reformed to huge acclaim with sellout concerts throughout Ireland.
One of the very pleasant surprises for the band was seeing a lot of old faces in the audiences.
“We always came out front to talk to people after each gig and so we got to know many of the regular faces in the different venues around Ireland,” said Gina.
“We decided to continue this tradition and I can’t get over how many of those same people turn up again to see us play. Some even bring along their teenage children with them, it is wonderful,” said Gina.
Gina, Dale Haze and The Champions will be on stage from 11pm to 1am and early arrival is advised as a bumper crowd is expected for what promises to be a wonderful night of Hits and Memoires. Contact Hotel Reception for more details 0436671325
