A table quiz in aid of Castlepollard Tidy Towns Committee will take place in the Hotel Castlepollard, starting at 8.30pm. €30 per table of four.

Liam Ó Maonlaí and the Brad Pitt Light Orchestra will perform ‘The Cohen Project – Túr na nAmhrán’ at the Backstage Theatre, Longford at 8.30pm.

St Patrick’s GAA Club, Ardagh are holding a race night in Lyon’s Pub. First race 9.30pm.

A table quiz will take place in the Richmond Inn, Clondra at 8.30pm. Table of four costs €30, and a raffle will be held on the night. Proceeds in aid of the refurbishment of Clondra Hall.

Ballymahon One Act Festival 2013 will take place in the Bog Lane Theatre. The One Act Drama Festival will also take place in the Corn Mill Theatre, Carrigallen.

Saturday, November 16:

As the year-long celebrations marking the town’s 400th anniversary come to an end, Carrick-on-Shannon will host a free open air event.

The Longford Sports Awards will take place in the Backstage Theatre at 8pm. The awards recognise outstanding achievement and dedication to sport throughout the county.

A table quiz to raise funds for Santa will take place in Crawford’s, Abbeylara at 9.30pm. Table of four costs €20. There will be a raffle on the night and refreshments will be served.

Newtown FC present a Darts Exhibition with ‘The History Maker’ Brendan Dolan at 8pm in McGowan’s pub, Newtownforbes. Proceeds go to Newtown FC.

Saturday, November 16:

Drumshanbo branch of Cómhaltas are hosting a traditional music, dancing and singing session in Gunnings/Conways, Drumshanbo at 9.30pm in aid of Trócaire.
