Among the many exceptionally talented performers is Gearoid Farrelly, the winner of the prestigious Bulmers Nothin Butt Funny competition. Gearoid plays regular support in Vicar Street for PJ Gallagher, Maeve Higgins, Tommy Tiernan and many others.

He is also a regular at Kilkenny Cat Laugh’s and the former Comedy Carnival/Vodaphone comedy festival and a regular at the International Comedy Club and The Laughter Lounge. He is currently working on his solo Edinburgh show Turbulence. Gearoid has also appeared on the Craig Doyle show and the Panel. He is not to be missed. Another key attraction on the night will be Enda Whitney, your very own funny man and club promoter who is back to gig in celebration of his birthday. With a new set, he tells of his adventure on the road to London. Lorna Forde will also be joining the Longford Comedy Club this month. This wee lass is taking the comedy scene by storm. She recently got through to the semi finals of the prestigious So You think you’re Funny competition in Edinburgh. She is one to watch out for in the future. Lorna is also currently touring with the new Keith Barry show. Your MC for the evening will be the fantastic Matt Saddler, an old school comic back on the scene with fantastic new material. He has previously played Vicar Street with the likes of Des Bishop, Tommy Tiernan and Neil Delamere. Matt was once hand picked by Eddie Izzard to be a support act for him many moons ago. The headliner for the evening is the wonderful Pat McDonnell, Fr. Ted’s Eoin McLove and a regular on Naked Camera. He co-wrote and starred in the fantastic Savage eye. He is a regular headliner wherever he goes. He is in Longford for one night only so don’t miss him. There will be music afterwards by local band Paper Planes. €10 admission. Doors open at 8.30pm with show starting at 9pm. Also on Saturday August 20 there will be a fundraising night for Temple Street Hospital. Enda Whitney and Thomas Briody will undertake a 80km cycle for this fundraiser. More details will follow.
